How to Apply for the EDGE Grant for Marketing and Branding in Singapore (Updated Oct 2026)

To stay ahead in an AI-driven economy, Singapore enterprises can tap into government funding via the EDGE Grant, the unified framework that succeeded the former Enterprise Development Grant (EDG), Market Readiness Assistance (MRA), and Productivity Solutions Grant (PSG) on 30 September 2026.

Designed as a single, streamlined funding scheme, EDGE covers 8 core business areas and over 150 eligible activities to accelerate enterprise growth.

From adopting artificial intelligence and advanced digital tools to automating operations, expanding overseas, or driving sustainability, EDGE brings all government co-funding initiatives together under one roof.

In this post, we will discuss how to apply for the Singapore EDGE Grant for a marketing and branding project.

How the EDGE Grant Works in a Nutshell

The EDGE grant subsidises a submitted project and works on a reimbursement basis. This means the project has to be completed with all expenses paid out. The audited accounts, documentation and final report with all achieved project deliverables can then be submitted for reimbursement.

The EDGE grant funds qualifying project costs that include consultancy fees from certified 3rd party consultants and internal manpower costs.

From 1 Oct 2026, SMEs can receive up to 50% to 70% support for these qualifying costs (depending on the nature of the project).

Strategic Business and Marketing Projects

If you are looking to improve the strategic marketing or branding of your business in Singapore or overseas, you can apply for the EDGE grant under the potential business areas:

  • Business Strategic Planning (up to 50% support for SMEs and up to 30% support for non-SMEs)
  • International Branding (up to 70% support for SMEs and up to 50% support for non-SMEs)

Qualifying consultancy costs include:

    • Diagnosis and gap analysis of your business
    • Assessment of internal and external factors, such as strengths and weaknesses, and competition
    • Primary or secondary research
    • Recommendations and plans for implementation
    • Brand research and analysis
    • Development of brand strategy
    • Development or refresh of brand identity
To qualify for government funding support, your enterprise project must be spearheaded by an Enterprise Singapore-recognised certified management consultant adhering to SS 680:2021 standards.

APPLYING FOR AN EDGE GRANT

Here are the steps to take to apply for an EDGE Grant for a business strategic planning and international branding project:

Step 1: Ensure Your Company Meets the Basic EDGE Eligibility Requirements

To qualify for the EDGE Singapore grant, your business must:

  • Be registered and operating in Singapore. EDGE is open to Sole Proprietors, Limited Liability Partnerships and Pte Ltd companies.
  • Have a minimum of 30% local shareholding.
  • Have less than 200 employees OR have less than SGD100 million annual turnover. Ideally, with a minimum SGD500,000 turnover.
  • Not be a start-up. You should ideally be operating for at least 2 to 3 years.
  • Has business activity and preferably growth in the last few years.
  • Projection of new jobs created, overall and Singaporeans only, with gross monthly salary above S$5,000, for 1 year after project completion
  • Be in a financially viable position to start and complete the project. (The EDGE Grant works on a reimbursement basis and is not an upfront grant.)

*While there is no official minimum employee headcount required for your business, you must demonstrate a clear path toward generating positive employment outcomes for Singaporean workers as described above.

Step 2: Look for a Certified Management Consultant in Marketing

For strategic planning and international branding projects, you need to work with an Enterprise Singapore-recognised consultant who holds the SS 680:2021 certification.

Choosing a certified consultant ensures you receive high-quality advice, professional standards, and full support throughout your grant project.

Step 3: Prepare the Project Proposal

You will need to prepare the project proposal as part of the EDGE application. This is where an experienced and competent management consultant is essential.

The consultant should assist in preparing the proposal and guide you in providing the necessary information to strengthen the proposal. A good consultant will also be familiar with the EDGE project template and understand the requirements of the application proposal.

Step 4: Prepare the Required Supporting Documents

Besides your project proposal, there are also other documents that must be prepared. These include:

    • Past Year(s) Financial Statements
    • Staff Remuneration
    • Depreciation
    • Management Consultant Certificate & CV

Once again, the certified management consultant will guide you through the process and let you know specific documents you need to prepare.

Step 5: Apply for EDG

Once all the above have been met, your company will be able to apply for the EDGE grant at the Business Grants Portal by logging in with your CorpPass.

Follow the guided steps and upload the various documents as instructed.

Approval of the EDGE Grant

Once your application is submitted, it will take between 8 – 12 weeks for your EDGE grant application to be processed. Typically, you should get a response from an Enterprise Singapore officer within 4 – 6 weeks.

Sometimes, you will be asked to clarify aspects of your business or the proposal or be requested to submit additional documentation.

Working with an experienced management consultant and submitting all the requested documentation in proper order will ensure the application can be processed with little delay.

Applications will be assessed by Enterprise Singapore based on project scope, project outcomes and competency of the marketing consultant.

If/ when your EDGE grant application is approved, a project Letter of Offer will be sent to you. This Letter of Offer will contain the amount of grant awarded to your company, along with its conditions of support.

The conditions of support are:

    • Project Qualifying Period
    • Project Deliverables

Do note that you must accept the conditions on this Letter of Offer and acknowledge receiving it or the application will be considered null and invalid.

HOW MUCH IS THE INVESTMENT AND HOW IS COVERED BY EDGE?

Typical business and marketing projects for SMEs range from S$40,000 – S$100,000, depending on the scope and duration of the project.

Most projects last 4 – 6 months, with some large ones lasting a year.

Assuming a project is budgeted at S$40,000, EDG will up to support S$20,000 (50%), which means your investment is S$20,000.

However, do note, as mentioned above, EDG works on a reimbursement basis. This means you will need to have the cashflow to pay for the project costs first.

The audited accounts, documentation and final report with all the achieved project deliverables can then be submitted for reimbursement.

Reimbursement takes about 1 month, assuming there is nothing wrong with your paperwork submission.

That is it! While this post is a long read, I hope that it gives you a comprehensive overview on applying for the EDGE grant for your business or marketing project.

The best advice I can give is for you to speak with a certified management consultant to assess if you have a feasible and viable EDGE project.
