CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY (CSR) PROGRAMME
As part of our efforts to give back to the business community and society, Evolve & Adapt has a programme corporate social responsibility in Singapore that leverages on our strengths for positive community impact.
We currently run two programmes; the “Safe Sites Initiative” and our free Digital Marketing E-Consultancy.
PROGRAM #1: SAFE SITES INITIATIVES
Evolve & Adapt’s “Safe Sites Initiative” focuses on scanning websites for malicious codes, Trojan links or data collecting scripts that may be embedded in the sites without the owner’s knowledge or permission.
Not all website owners or administrators have the expertise or experience to identify if there is malware embedded in their site. If any suspicious codes, links or scripts are found, Evolve & Adapt will tip off the website owner or administrator.
HOW DO MALICIOUS CODES AND TROJAN LINKS AFFECT YOUR WEBSITE
Depending on the intent of the codes or links embedded in your site, the negative impact on your website or brand will vary. Here are some examples:
Malware is the most common form of malicious code and this can include Adware, Spyware, Virus, Worm, Keylogger, Trojan, Rootkit, Phishing & Spear Phishing, Bots and Ransomware. This sort of malware can affect your business operations or security of your customer data.
In the most serious situations, malware gives authorised access to your website which allows for a range of negative consequences. Besides losing data or being held ransom to unlock your assess to website or your connected network, your customer data can be secretly collected. This is especially worrying if your site collects data of children.
Check out a more detailed article on malware here.
In less serious cases, your website might be embedded with hidden links to undesirable or unintended sites that can affect brand image. Hidden links and links embedded in the underlying code of your website. They are not visible on the website page and can only been seen in the code of a webpage.
Hidden links in your website will also affect your website’s search engine ranking. For example, Google penalises hidden links and will demote your website in search results.
Sometimes unethical website designers or search engine optimisation (SEO) service providers may insert hidden links to direct to their clients or own websites as back links without permission. This form of back linking is unethical and is considered a “black hat” technique and has a direct negative impact on your website’s SEO.
HOW OUR PROGRAMME CORPORORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY WORKS
The goal of the “Safe Sites Initiative” is to keep websites safe for users, brands and the general public.
Typically, we will scan websites independently to check for malware.
After identifying potential malware or cloaked links, if the website owner or administrator does not have an IT support department or the know-how to remove the malware, in most cases, Evolve & Adapt will remove the malware as well as perform a health check of the website for free if the website owner so requests.
In the event the infection is too serious and requires extensive clean-up and specialised expertise to conduct a full security audit that Evolve & Adapt cannot undertake, we will suggest courses of action to take.

PROGRAM #2: FREE DIGITAL MARKETING E-CONSULTANCY
To help businesses digitally transform in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic, Evolve & Adapt, has launched an AI-Digital Marketing Self-Test for small & medium-sized enterprises.
This online self-test will help businesses determine which types of digital marketing they need and what steps they can take to close the digital gap.
It is entirely free and only takes minutes to complete.
The self-test uses an AI program with a custom algorithm that imitates step-by-step reasoning and logical decisions that a digital consultant will make based on a set of variable data. Based on the information provided by the user, a comprehensive downloadable analysis report will be generated.
